Snow falling and ice forming between 7 am and 8 pm must be dealt with without delay once the snow stops or the ice forms. Snow or ice arising after 8 pm must be dealt with by 7 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays the following day.
Clear and grit pavements to the width needed for use (1.50 m where the pavement is wider), as well as paths to crossings, to the road and to the property entrance. Do not move snow and ice from private property onto pavements or roads.
Use abrasive grit in preference to de-icers; grit or break up ice and remove it.
The winter service period runs from September to May inclusive. Where there is a pavement on one side only, frontagers next to the pavement are responsible in periods starting in an even-numbered year, otherwise those on the opposite side of the street.
