Deal with snow and ice between 7 am and 8 pm without delay once the snow stops falling or the ice forms; anything arising after 8 pm by 7 am the following day.
The duty covers pavements, combined foot/cycle paths, cycle paths, connecting and stepped paths, and the pavement area at stops; where neither side of the street has a pavement, a walkable verge or the necessary strip of the carriageway counts as the pavement. In traffic-calmed streets a 1.50 m strip along the property boundary applies.
In icy conditions grit pavements with abrasive material; salt is not permitted.
