Honest questions. Honest answers.

What does cleaning cost?

The cost depends on the type and scope of the cleaning and on the region. The cleaning calculator gives you a first estimate. The company tells you the exact price when you send a request.

Do you still have capacity?

Just send a request.

How does billing work?

The company that does the work sends you the invoice. The portal does not invoice you and costs you nothing.

Who is liable in Gotha if nobody clears the snow?

You are. Even on holiday. Especially on holiday.

What are the snow clearing times in Gotha?

Weekdays 7 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 8 am to 8 pm, without delay whenever snow falls and repeated regularly as needed.

Snow clearing duty

Gotha

Weekdays 7 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 8 am to 8 pm, without delay whenever snow falls and repeated regularly as needed.

Clear pavements wide enough that traffic is impeded no more than unavoidable, and a path to the road and to the property entrance at least 1.00 m wide, at public transport stops at least 5 m. Where road and pavement are not separated, including pedestrian zones, a 1.50 m strip along the property boundary, as far as the street width allows.

In icy conditions grit pavements, as a rule, to their full width, mainly with sand, chippings or similar, no ash. Road salt only in exceptional weather such as freezing rain and at hazard spots such as steps, where abrasive material is not enough.

Where there is a pavement on one side only, frontagers on the pavement side are responsible in even-numbered years, those on the opposite side in odd-numbered years.

Arnstadt

Weekdays 6 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 7 am to 8 pm, as often as necessary. Clear immediately after any snowfall that leaves the pavement fully covered; grit as soon as icy conditions are clearly setting in.

Clear pavements at least 1.20 m wide, where local conditions allow. In pedestrian zones and traffic-calmed areas without a separate pavement, a 1.50 m strip along the property boundary counts as the pavement.

Grit with abrasive material such as expanded shale or sand, no ash. Road salt only in freezing wet conditions, freezing rain and the like, and on steps and paths steeper than 4 %, where abrasive material is not enough; never on planted areas, tree pits or flower beds.

Clear the pavement again if snowploughs have covered it with snow once more. Remove grit residues as soon as possible.

The town's bylaw is authoritative: Winter service bylaw, consolidated version of 22 January 2007
