Hanau
Monday to Friday 7 am to 8 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 9 am to 8 pm. Clear and grit without delay when it snows or is slippery, repeated as needed.
Clear and grit pavements and crossings wide enough that traffic is not impeded more than unavoidable, plus a path at least 1.50 m wide from each property to the road and to the entrance. In pedestrian zones and traffic-calmed areas without a pavement, a 1.50 m strip along the property line counts as the pavement.
Use mainly sand, chippings or similar gritting material. Salt is generally banned on pavements and crossings; allowed only in exceptional conditions such as freezing rain or at dangerous spots such as steps, ramps and steep slopes.
Where only one side has a pavement, frontagers on that side are responsible in even-numbered years and those opposite in odd-numbered years. Fines from €2.50 to €1,000.
The town's bylaw is authoritative: Street cleaning bylaw of 30 November 2023
