Weekdays 8 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 9 am to 8 pm: clear snow once it stops falling and grit ice as soon as it forms, without delay. Snow or ice after 8 pm by 8 am (weekdays) or 9 am (Sundays and public holidays) the following day.
Keep footpaths and cycle paths clear of snow and ice at the width public safety requires, where possible at least 1.20 m, and grit them when icy. At pedestrian crossings clear and grit the pavement up to the edge of the carriageway, at bus stops up to the kerb.
Salt and other de-icers are generally banned on pavements with trees or shrubs and on paved pavements; allowed only in exceptional weather such as freezing rain or at dangerous spots such as steps, ramps and steep slopes.
The duty applies in the streets listed in Annex 2 of the bylaw along the property frontage, to the extent set by the street's cleaning category (Annex 1).
The town's bylaw is authoritative: Street cleaning bylaw of 18 June 2026

Between 7:30 am and 8 pm, remove ice immediately as often as necessary and snow immediately after it stops falling. Snow and ice after 8 pm by 7:30 am the next day.
Keep pavements, walkable verges and shared foot and cycle paths along the property frontage clear of snow at the width pedestrians need (about 1.50 m) and grit them when icy. Where there is no separate pavement, a 1.50 m strip on each side counts as pavement.
When icy, grit with abrasive materials such as gravel or granules; ash and household waste are not allowed. Road salt only in exceptional cases at particularly dangerous spots, as a rule no more than 20 g per square metre.
The duty applies in the streets of Annex A; in the streets and connecting, residential and cul-de-sac paths of Annex B it covers the whole surface, up to the middle of the street where owners on both sides are obliged.
