Plauen
On pavements, remove snow and ice without delay once snowfall stops or ice forms, from 6 am on weekdays and from 8 am on Sundays and public holidays, repeating as needed until 8 pm.
Keep pavements clear of snow 1.50 m wide and grit them when icy, including at bus and tram stops, junctions and pedestrian crossings. Do not pile up a continuous wall of snow at the edge of the pavement or road.
Grit with suitable materials. Salt and other de-icers are generally banned, allowed only in exceptional cases such as freezing rain and at dangerous spots such as steps, ramps or steep slopes, never on tree pits or planted areas.
Owners of adjoining properties are responsible, including for footpaths. Breaches can be fined €5 to €500, or at most €250 if negligent.
The town's bylaw is authoritative: Street cleaning and fees bylaw of 1 December 2021, consolidated version including the 1st amendment of 3 December 2024
