Weekdays 7 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 9 am to 8 pm, clearing and gritting is required. Snow or ice arising after 8 pm must be cleared the next day, by 7 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays.
Keep pavements clear to at least 1 m width; in pedestrian zones, walkways along the property boundaries at least 2 m wide; on streets and squares without a pavement, at least 1 m wide on the verge or along the houses.
Rock salt and salt-based agents are generally banned on pavements, as are chemical de-icers without proven environmental safety; allowed only in freezing rain or at steps, ramps, bridge approaches and slopes. Salty snow must not be placed on tree pits or planted areas.
Breaches of the cleaning duty: fine of up to €500.
