Neustadt an der Weinstraße
Clear snow daily before general daytime traffic begins, by 7 am at the latest; repeat as needed after every further snowfall until 10 pm. Gritting duty must likewise be met by 7 am at the latest, and ice forming until 10 pm must be gritted without delay.
Clearing duty on pavements up to a width of 1.5 m, and up to the middle on connecting paths and stairways; where there is no pavement, a 1.5 m strip along the property boundary counts as the pavement. Access to public transport stops must also be kept clear of snow.
When icy, grit with suitable abrasive materials such as ash, sawdust, sand, slag or grit. Salt on pavements is banned as a rule, allowed only in specially justified weather-related exceptional cases (e.g. freezing rain) or on steps, ramps, bridge approaches, and steep or sloping sections.

Clearing and gritting duties must be met early enough that the areas are always safely usable during normal traffic hours. Snow and ice arising between 7 am and 8 pm must be cleared without delay after the snowfall or icy conditions end. Snow and ice arising after 8 pm must be cleared by 7 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays the following day.
Keep the pavement clear of snow and ice and grit it sufficiently with abrasive materials; on wide pavements a 1.50 m strip along the property boundary is enough. Where there is no pavement, a strip of about 1.50 m applies. Also cover pedestrian crossings continuing the pavements up to the middle of the carriageway.
When icy, grit as a rule with abrasive materials such as grit, sand or ash. De-icing agents only in exceptional cases in freezing rain and on steep sections, kept to a minimum. Tree pits and planted areas must not be gritted with salt or other de-icing substances.
Breaches of the cleaning or snow-clearing duty are administrative offences, with a fine of up to €500.
