Montabaur
Snow that makes pavements hard to use must be cleared without delay. Snow or slush falling at night must be cleared by the start of general traffic hours at 7 am; grit repeatedly during the day as needed until 9 pm.
The clearing and gritting duty applies to pavements; where there is no pavement, a 1.5 m strip along the property boundary counts as the pavement.
Grit with abrasive materials (ash, sand, sawdust, grit). Salt may only be used in small quantities against ice, not to remove snow.

Snow and ice arising between 7 am and 8 pm must be cleared without delay after the snowfall or icy conditions end. Snow and ice arising after 8 pm must be cleared by 7 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays the following day.
Keep the pavement clear of snow to a width of 1.5 m; where there is no pavement, a 1.5 m strip along the property boundary counts as the pavement. At public transport stops, grit when icy so that access is as safe as possible.
Grit with abrasive materials (ash, sand, sawdust, grit) when icy and break up ice. Salt is banned as a rule, allowed only in special weather-related exceptional cases (e.g. freezing rain) or at particularly hazardous points such as steps, ramps, bridge approaches and steep slopes, and then only to the extent absolutely necessary. Tree pits and planted areas must not be gritted with salt or other de-icing agents.
