Clear and grit on weekdays between 7 am and 9 pm, on Sundays and public holidays between 8 am and 8 pm. Snow falling or ice forming overnight must be cleared by 7 am or 8 am respectively, repeated as needed until 9 pm or 8 pm respectively.
On pavements, keep at least a 1.5 m strip clear of snow and gritted. Where the pavement is narrower than 1.5 m, grit the whole pavement and keep a strip of around at least 1.0 m clear. Where there is no pavement on a street wider than 5.5 m, keep a 1.5 m strip along the property boundary clear. Also keep access to pedestrian crossings and public transport stops clear.
When icy, grit with abrasive materials (e.g. ash, sand) and break up and remove ice. Salt or other de-icing substances are banned on pavements.
