Remove snow and ice arising between 7 am and 8 pm without delay once the snowfall stops. Anything after 8 pm by 7 am the next day on weekdays, by 8 am on Sundays and public holidays.
Keep pavements clear of snow to the width pedestrians need, at least 1.20 m. Where there is no separate pavement, a 1.20 m strip on each side (2.50 m in pedestrian streets) counts as pavement.
In icy or snowy conditions, grit with abrasive materials; use salt or other de-icers only if these are not sufficient. No salt on tree pits or planted areas, and no salty snow piled on them.
Failing to meet the winter service duty can be fined up to €500 if intentional and up to €250 if negligent.
