Snow and ice arising between 7 am and 8 pm must be cleared immediately. Snow falling or ice forming after 8 pm must be cleared by 7 am on weekdays, or by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays, the following day.
Keep the pavement clear of snow to a width of 1.50 m, in pedestrian zones a strip of 2 m. At stops for public transport or school buses, keep pavements clear and gritted so that boarding and alighting is safe.
Salt or other de-icing substances on pavements are generally banned, allowed only in special weather conditions such as freezing rain or at dangerous spots such as steps, ramps, bridge approaches and steep gradients. Tree pits and planted areas must not be gritted with salt or other de-icing materials, nor may salt-laden snow be stored there.
