Snow and ice arising between 7 am and 8 pm (Sundays and public holidays 9 am to 8 pm) must be removed immediately after the snowfall ends. Snow falling after 8 pm must be removed by 7 am (Sundays and public holidays 9 am) the next day.
Keep pavements clear of snow over a width of 1.5 m and grit them with abrasive materials when icy. Where there is no pavement, keep a sufficiently wide strip along the property frontage passable.
De-icing and environmentally harmful substances are banned, except where abrasive grit is not enough and pedestrians are at risk (e.g. black ice, freezing rain, steps, steep slopes). Snow containing de-icer must not be piled on tree pits or planted areas.
At public transport and school bus stops and pedestrian crossings, clear and grit the pavement up to the kerb.
