If snow has fallen overnight, clear it by 7.30 am at the latest, and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays. In icy conditions grit between 7.30 am and 8 pm, and between 9 am and 8 pm on Sundays and public holidays.
Clear pavements narrower than 2.0 m at least 1.0 m wide, others at least 1.50 m wide. Where there is no made-up pavement, keep a sufficiently wide strip beside the carriageway clear, or, where there is no verge, at the outermost edge of the carriageway.
Only sand or other abrasive materials may be used; harmful chemicals including de-icing salts are banned.

Breaches can be punished with a fine of up to €5,000.00.
