Peine
After overnight snow, clear pavements by 7:30 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays. Repeat clearing and gritting as needed until 8 pm.
Clear and grit pavements at least 1.50 m wide, narrower ones in full; clear residential paths across their full width when it snows. Where there is no pavement, a strip at least 1.50 m wide next to the carriageway or at its outer edge.
Grit with sand or other abrasive material; harmful chemicals are banned. Road salt only as an exception where other means are not enough, and only at dangerous spots such as steps or ramps; never on tree pits or planted areas.
Keep gutters, drains and hydrants free of snow and ice, and ensure safe access at bus stops. Breaches: fine of up to €5,000.
The town's ordinance is authoritative: Ordinance on the type, extent and scope of street cleaning in the town of Peine
