Clear snow and grit by 7 am on weekdays and by 9 am on Sundays and public holidays; repeat as needed until 10 pm.
Clear and grit pavements at least 1.00 m wide, narrower ones in full; where there is no distinct pavement, a strip at least 1.00 m wide next to the carriageway or at its outer edge. Keep access paths to properties clear at least 0.80 m wide.
Only abrasive grit such as chippings or sand; salt, salt-sand mixes and chemical de-icers are generally banned. Road salt only as an exception at dangerous spots such as steps or ramps, de-icers in freezing rain only as far as strictly necessary.
Keep access to pedestrian crossings and bus stops clear, and do not pile salty snow under trees or on planted areas. Breaches: fine of up to €1,000.
