Winter service between 7 am and 9 pm. Clearing and gritting must be done by 7 am on weekdays and by 8 am on Sundays and public holidays, and repeated during the day as needed.
Grit pavements, and clear them where necessary, over a width of at least 1.30 m, narrower pavements in full. Where there is no pavement, keep a 1.30 m wide strip along the edge of the road passable.
Snow and ice must as a rule be removed mechanically. Pure de-icers such as salt or brine are not permitted on pavements; in icy conditions only a mix with sand of at most 1 part grit salt to 15 parts sand.
In winter, clear the drain inlets and keep them clear.

Keep pavements and pedestrian crossings clear over at least 1.50 m, narrower pavements in full. Where there is no pavement, keep a strip of at least 1.50 m next to the road clear.
When icy, grit with sand or other abrasive material; no harmful chemicals. Grit salt only where the ice cannot otherwise be removed adequately, and only at hazardous spots such as steps, ramps or steep slopes, never on tree pits or planted areas.
Keep gutters, drain inlets and hydrants free of snow and ice.
