Clear pavements of snow and keep them gritted in icy conditions from 7 am to 10 pm, on Sundays and public holidays from 8 am to 10 pm.
Pavements and shared cycle and footpaths at least 1.20 m wide. Where the street has no separate pavement, a strip of at least 1.20 m on each side; keep access to properties clear at least 0.80 m wide.
Only abrasive grit such as chippings or sand. Salt, salt-sand mixtures, chemical de-icers and coarse materials such as crushed stone are banned; salt is allowed on pavement steps and ramps.
Breaches can be punished with a fine of up to €5,000.
