Between 7 am and 8 pm clear snow or ice without delay as it falls or forms. Anything arising later by 7 am the next weekday, 8 am on Saturdays and 9 am on Sundays.
Clear and grit the pavement to the width pedestrians need, at least 1.50 m wide where possible. Where there is no pavement, a walkable verge or the necessary width of the carriageway counts as the pavement.
Use only abrasive grit. De-icing agents such as salt only in exceptional weather such as freezing rain or at hazardous spots such as steps, ramps or slopes; never grit tree pits or green areas with salt.
Anyone who fails to clear and grit, does not do so in time, or uses banned grit, can be fined up to 2,500 euros.
