Greifswald
Between 8 am and 8 pm deal with snow and ice without delay once the snow stops or the ice forms; anything arising after 8 pm by 8 am the following day.
Keep pavements, including those also marked as cycle paths, clear of snow at least 1.50 m wide; where neither side of the street has a pavement, a walkable verge or the strip of road needed by pedestrians counts as the pavement. At bus and tram stops clear and grit up to the kerb.
In icy conditions grit only with abrasive material, not salt; de-icing agents must not be used.
In pedestrian zones clear from the property boundary to the gutter, at least 1.50 m wide; in traffic-calmed streets half the width. Pile snow and ice on the third of the pavement or verge next to the road, and do not move it from properties onto the street.

Weekdays 7 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays 8 am to 8 pm: clear snow without delay once it stops falling and deal with ice without delay once it forms. Anything arising after 8 pm by 7 am the next working day or 8 am the next Sunday or public holiday.
Winter service on pavements, including those also marked as cycle paths, on connecting paths and steps, and at fire-fighting connections and hydrants. Where neither side of the street has a pavement, the verge needed by pedestrians counts as the pavement; in pedestrian zones and traffic-calmed areas, a 1.50 m strip along the property boundary.
As a rule grit with environmentally safe abrasive material such as sand or stone granules. Salt and other chemicals only where abrasive material is not enough, for example at hazard spots, steps, ramps and slopes; never on tree pits or planted areas.
The city clears the waiting and boarding areas at public transport stops. Do not move snow and ice from properties onto the street; keep gutters, drains and fire-water connections clear.
