Oberursel (Taunus)
Clear snow without delay, except during prolonged heavy snowfall; grit in good time when slippery. Both apply from 7 am to 8 pm, and beyond that when particular circumstances mean notable pedestrian traffic is expected outside these hours, for example outside cinemas or restaurants.
Clear the pavement of snow to a width of 1.50 m, plus a path of the same width from each property to the road and to the entrance.
Use mainly sand, chippings or other abrasive material as grit. Salt and chemicals only in small amounts to remove compacted ice and snow residue; no salt or chemicals in the root area of trees and shrubs.
Where only one side of the street has a pavement, frontagers on the opposite side are also responsible in alternating years: house numbers with an even final digit in even-numbered years, those with an odd final digit in odd-numbered years. Fines from 5 to 1,000 euros.
The town's bylaw is authoritative: Street cleaning bylaw of 29 April 2005
