Daily from 7 am at the latest until at least 8 pm; on Saturdays from 8 am, on Sundays and public holidays from 9 am at the latest. Clear snow and treat ice without delay, except during prolonged heavy snowfall.
Clear pavements at least 1 m wide where local conditions allow, plus a path of at least 1 m from each property to the road and to the entrance. In icy conditions, grit the full width of the pavement.
Grit with sand, chippings or similar material. Salt is generally banned on pavements and around tree roots; small amounts are allowed at particular danger spots such as crossings, steps and steep pavements.
Where only one side of the street has a pavement, frontagers on that side are responsible in odd-numbered years and those opposite in even-numbered years. Fines up to €5,000.
