Weekdays from 7 am, Sundays and public holidays from 8 am: clear snow and grit when icy. Repeat as often as needed until 8 pm.
Keep the footway in front of the property safe; where there is no paved pavement, the strip along the edge of the street 1.20 m wide. Pile cleared snow next to the footway and keep gutters, hydrants, drain inlets and pedestrian crossings clear.
Grit with abrasive materials such as sand or chippings, not with road salt or corrosive agents. Road salt is allowed at particular danger spots (e.g. steep sections, stairways, lowered kerbs) or in especially adverse weather such as freezing rain, only as much as necessary.
The duty applies to all public streets within the built-up area, even if they are not listed in the street register. Breaches: fine of up to one thousand euros.
