Clear snow and grit when icy from 7 am on weekdays, from 8 am on Sundays and public holidays. Repeat as often as needed until 8 pm.
The pavement in front of the property must be kept safe. Where it is not paved or marked off, a 1.5 m strip along the edge of the street applies.
Grit with abrasive materials such as sand or chippings, not with de-icing salt or corrosive agents. De-icing salt is only allowed where there is a particular risk of ice, e.g. on steps, steep inclines or downhill stretches.
The duty applies to all public streets within the built-up area, even those not listed in the street register. Breaches: fine of up to €1,000.
