Neu-Ulm
Clear snow and grit when icy by 7 am on weekdays and by 8:30 am on Sundays and public holidays; repeat as often as necessary until 8 pm.
Where there is no made-up pavement, a strip 1.50 m wide at the edge of the road, measured from the road property boundary, counts as the footway, the same applies in traffic-calmed areas. Keep gutters, hydrants, drain inlets and pedestrian crossing points clear when clearing snow.
Grit with abrasive materials such as sand or chippings in icy, frosty or slippery conditions, not with de-icing salt or corrosive substances. Where there is a particular danger of slipping, for example on steps or slopes, de-icing salt is allowed.
A fine of up to €1,000 for wilful or negligent breach of the duty to keep the pavement safe.
The town's ordinance is authoritative: Ordinance on keeping public roads clean and securing footways in winter
