Clear snow and grit when icy from 7 am on weekdays and from 8 am on Sundays and public holidays; repeat as often as necessary until 8 pm.
The footway in front of the property must be kept safe; where there is no paved or marked-off pavement, 1.50 m from the walkable edge of the road. This applies to all public streets within the built-up area, even those not listed in the street cleaning register.
Grit with abrasive materials such as sand or chippings, not with de-icing salt or corrosive substances. De-icing salt is only allowed where it is particularly slippery (e.g. steps, steep slopes) or in exceptional weather (e.g. freezing rain).
Anyone who wilfully or negligently fails to make the pavement safe, or does so late, can be fined up to one thousand euros.
